Abstract

Impacted and Ectopic Teeth Management With Aligners

Tooth eruption involves the migration of the teeth from a non-functional position within the bone to a functional position in the jaw. In orthodontic practice, we will encounter frequently eruptive abnormalities such as impacted teeth and ectopic eruption. The orthodontic management of those teeth can be very challenging and requires a carefully planned biomechanical approach. The development of treatment plans must be based on the careful analysis of the clinical situation and identification of the force system necessary to obtain the desired tooth movement. Aligner’s biomechanics design and auxiliaries are developed according to the treatment objectives and desired force system. In this lecture, we will see and overview of different impaction and ectopic teeth and their orthodontic management with aligners systems. Key words: impaction, ectopic, auxiliaries, aligners.
